Atomic Learning
Atomic Learning (AL) is a web based service which provides a large, online library of short, easy to understand tutorials for using computer software commonly used in schools. These short video tutorials are a 'just-in-time' learning opportunity for you when you need it. No need to attend a technology class after school - learn when and where the time is best for you. Download the flyer for your district at the bottom of this page to learn how to log in.
This service is available to staff at the Crook County and Sisters School Districts for the 2011-2012 school year.
Atomic Learning's approach to software training focuses on answering common questions encountered when learning and using software. How do you cut and paste in Word? How do you crop photos in Photoshop Elements? Just ask Atomic Learning.
AL can also show you how to easily integrate technology into your daily lessons, and Workshops provide tutorials on a variety of topics:
- Learn how to create a global learning environment in "Seven Steps to a Flat Classroom"
- Explore topics like Wikis, podcasts, and Web 2.0 (What's that?)
- Learn to do a mail merge, create a newsletter, create an effective PowerPoint presentation
- See how to set up custom searches in Google
Lesson Accelerator Tech Integration Projects guide you toward seamless classroom integration. As you complete these projects, you will become more comfortable using them in your classroom. These projects walk you through creating the lesson, including Goals, Objectives, Task List, assessments, and more. Step-bystep video tutorials walk through each part of the lesson that you and your students will do from beginning to end!
The Video Storytelling Guide explains and illustrates the “language” of video. Basic video shots and composition rules are explained through both text and integrated video examples.
The Teacher Tech Skills Assessment , based on the 2008 ISTE NETS-T standards, helps you gauge your technology skill levels and provides prescriptive paths to help you gain the knowledge needed to incorporate 21st century skills in your classroom.
